Elise Bur

Director

Elise Bur is the Director of the Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health with more than 18 years of experience in healthcare and rural health initiatives. She has led multiple successful HRSA grants and played a key role in developing integrated healthcare systems that improve coordination across primary care, behavioral health, oral health, and substance use services.

In 2020, she founded the Northern Michigan University Center for Rural Health, strengthening healthcare partnerships and expanding access to quality care throughout Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. She also leads outreach and advocacy efforts with healthcare organizations, foundations, community agencies, and policymakers at the local, state, and national levels.
